On Tuesday, Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was ousted from his speakership after the House of Representatives voted on Rep. Matt Gaetz's (R-FL) motion to vacate.
Alongside Democrats, Gaetz joined Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-MT), Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ), and Rep. Bob Good (R-VA).
Throughout the debate period, Republican lawmakers voiced their support for McCarthy and blasted the GOP rebels for their actions. Gaetz repeatedly responded to their accusations and demanded that Washington must reform in order to tackle the $33 trillion debt currently held by the United States.
"Chaos is Speaker McCarthy,” Gaetz said during his remarks. “Chaos is somebody who we cannot trust with their word.”
"The one thing that the White House, House Democrats, and many of us on the conservative side of the Republican caucus would argue is that the thing we have in common: Kevin McCarthy said something to all of us that he didn't really mean and never intended to live up to," Gaetz explained.
As the debate in the House raged, President Trump weighed in likely in an effort to prevent the intraparty rivalry from continuing to the point of McCarthy's ousting.
"Why is it that Republicans are always fighting among themselves, why aren’t they fighting the Radical Left Democrats who are destroying our Country?" Trump wrote on Truth Social. This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.

Rep. Gaetz I applaud you for your stand against McCarthy. He gave you his word and he did not live up to his agreement - get him outta there and get someone who will perform the tasks We want done. Get someone who won't cave to the uniparty.
