On Wednesday, hundreds of demonstrators occupied the Cannon House Office Building at the U.S. Capitol complex calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict that broke out following the massacre of over 1,300 Israelis and at least 30 Americans by Hamas last weekend.
Hill staffers first found out about the portest via an email sent to House offices by The Office of the Seageant at Arms which explained that Capitol Police would be entering a "heightened security posture and an increased police presence" due to "civil disturbance."
The Capitol Police also put out a public statement telling visitors, staff, and members that "A group of protesters are demonstrating inside the Cannon Rotunda. Demonstrations are not allowed inside Congressional Buildings."
As hundreds of demonstrators poured into the Capitol office building, dozens of officers were rushed to the scene in order to contain the growing distrubance.
"Capitol Police officers entering the Cannon House Office building, where a Jewish Voice for Peace protest is underway," Axios congressional reporter Andrew Solender. "Source who sent the photos estimates around 50-100 officers just entered and says 'vans ferrying in more cops every few minutes.'"
"The scene in the Cannon House Office Building rotunda on Capitol Hill as Hamas sympathizers chant under a banner calling for a 'CEASEFIRE,'" Townhall Managing Editor Spencer Brown explained. "Of note, demonstrations are not allowed in congressional buildings, per Capitol Police."
A number of demonstrators were arrested by the Capitol Police with the Daily Caller's Ford Fischer capturing one such arrest on video.
"A group of pro Palestinian insurrectionists stormed the Capitol today," wrote Libs Of TikTok. "Have any of them been arrested, hunted down, or thrown in gulags yet? Will any of them get 17-22-year prison sentences? Shaking."
The demonstration is being led by the Jewish Voice For Peace organization which is an organization advocating for the "liberation" of Palestine.
"Hundreds of American Jews are holding a sit-in at Congress — and we won’t leave until Congress calls for a ceasefire in Gaza," the group wrote. "As thousands of U.S. Jews protest outside, over 350 are inside, including two dozen rabbis, holding prayerful resistance."
"We’re here to say: not in our names, and never again. And we’ll continue our civil disobedience until Congress calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, or until they force us to leave," they added.

As an American, I want to see the same justice applied to this group as has been done to J6 "insurrectionists". Otherwise this country has been taken over by Left driven ideology.
