BREAKING: Republican Presidential Candidate Taken To Hospital Leaving Debate Appearance Unclear

On Wednesday, reports surfaced that Republican presidential candidate and Governor Doug Burgum (R-ND) was briefly hospitalized following an injury he sustained to his leg while in Milwaukee ahead of Wednesday evening's Republican presidential debate.

The presidential hopeful, who still remains unknown to most Republican primary voters, suffered the injury while playing basketball with his campaign staff on Tuesday evening.

According to Fox News, the Burgum campaign told the outlet that it is "unclear if he will be able to stand at the debate." Burgam has been discharged from the hospital following the incident as of Wednesday morning.

Burgum is set to join seven other presidential hopefuls on the debate stage. The candidates who made the stage include Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former Vice President Mike Pence, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Gov. Doug Burgam (R-ND), former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), and former Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R-AR).

Leading Republican candidate and 45th President Donald Trump has refused to debate and instead has opted for an interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson on X at 9 pm EST.

The candidates who did not make the debate include former California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder, businessman Perry Johnson, Rep. Will Hurd (R-TX), Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, and businessman Ryan Binkley.

While it remains unclear whether or not Burgum will be able to stand at the debate given his leg injury, he will hopefully be able to introduce himself to the country. As someone with little name recognition in the field, this would be one of the only opportunities to get his face in front of the millions of Republican voters who are set to cast their ballots for the nominee next year.
