BREAKING: Republican Presidential Hopefuls Tackle Crime And Healthcare

On Wednesday evening, seven Republican presidential candidates took to the stage at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California for the second GOP presidential debate hosted by Fox News and Univision. The debate started at 6 PM PST.

The candidates taking the stage include Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), former Vice President Mike Pence, former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), and Gov. Doug Burgam (R-SD).

Following a quick commercial break, the moderators took the discussion to crime. Gov. Chris Christie said that law and order must be restored to America's streets and he began to attack President Trump calling him "Donald Duck" for refusing to attend the debate.

Gov. DeSantis said that he would use the Department of Justice to go after Soros-funded district attorneys and back the blue.

Haley then reiterated what both Christie and DeSantis said on the issue. She then took the opportunity to explain that the government needs to support America-based countries rather than foreign enterprises.

The discussion then turned to gun violence and the Second Amendment. Gov Burgum explained that the left is trying to take away the Second Amendment rights of Americans and that Americans must get back to mental health, enforcing laws, and reinstituting family at the center of the nation.

Ramaswamy was then asked about the smuggling of fentanyl that is brought in by US citizens. Vivek explained that building the wall is not enough and that the military must be utilized to seal the southern border. He then argued that mental health care must be brought back in order to help young people who are turning to drugs. He then said that young people should not be using addictive social media.

DeSantis stepped in and explained that he would use the military to go after the cartels and that the border would be a national emergency on day one of his taking office.

Former VP Pence was then asked about repealing Obamacare, a promise that he made in 2016 and didn't fulfill. Pence first answered the question on gun violence where he explained that he is "sick and tired" of mass shootings happening in America. He said that he would pass a federal expedited death penalty for mass shooters if elected. Pence finally answered the Obamacare question by explaining that he would return such policies back to the states.

The Fox moderators then turned to Ron DeSantis to ask about the rising insurance rates in Florida. DeSantis took the opportunity to blast the Biden economy and promised to throw out burdensome regulations and be energy-dominant. The host then pressed DeSantis on the rising insurance rates to which the governor explained that Florida has limited welfare and the Florida economy is number one in the nation.

Haley then promised to make insurance companies and healthcare transparent and ensure that competition returned to the healthcare industry.

Gov. Burgum then explained that the federal government's intervention in the healthcare industry has led to it becoming more expensive due to technology subsidies and the government picking winners and losers.
