BREAKING: Ron DeSantis Will Announce Presidential Run With Elon Musk On Twitter

On Tuesday, NBC News reported that Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) will be holding his presidential announcement on Wednesday evening alongside Elon Musk on a Twitter Space.

DeSantis will join the Twitter CEO along with moderator David Sacks for a conversation on the social media platform at 6 pm EST. It is unclear whether or not Musk will endorse DeSantis during the call, however, NBC reports that DeSantis' team views the billionaire's participation as support for his candidacy. Given Musk's large following of over 140 million, the Twitter Space will surely be a early boon to the DeSantis campaign.

The Florida governor's anticipated presidential run has many on the Republican side looking forward to seeing what he has to say given that he has been running something of a shadow campaign via his book tour over the past few months.

In addition to the Twitter Space appearance, DeSantis is expected to release a campaign video at approximately the same time as his attendence in the Twitter Space.

 

Following his Wednesday announcement, the governor will be holding a donor retreat in Miami over the Memorial Day weekend. He will then be traveling to the early primary states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina after the holiday.

DeSantis' busy week ahead will be an introduction to the national stage for the Flordia native. The governor has been slipping in the polls in recent months for the Republican primary nomination with 45th President Donald Trump showing double-digit leads as high as 35 points over his opponents.

Americans are certainly looking forward to the campaign ahead for the Florida governor and the eventual primary debates that will take place in the coming months. While DeSantis is backed with considerable cash and some support from the grassroots, he will nevertheless have a tough fight ahead to usurp President Trump for the 2024 nomination.
