BREAKING: San Diego Border Patrol Apprehends Over 250 Chinese Nationals At Border

On Monday, Customs and Border Protection agents apprehended 269 Chinese nationals in the San Diego sector. The influx of Chinese migrants in just one sector is part of a growing trend of Chinese nationals fleeing their Communist homeland to Mexico in order to then cross illegally into the United States. The increase in Chinese migrants is abnormal, given that only 450 were encountered in the 2021 fiscal year compared to the over 20,000 encountered in the fiscal year 2024.

"Per CBP source, Border Patrol's San Diego sector apprehended 269 Chinese nationals who crossed illegally yesterday," Fox News journalist Bill Melugin reported. "More than 20,000 Chinese nationals have now been encountered by CBP in FY'24 so far. For perspective, there were only 450 Chinese encountered in all of FY'21."

"A large amount of the illegal crossings in the San Diego sector happen in Jacumba where there is a small gap in the wall that illegal immigrants pour through every day," Melugin continued alongside a clip of migrants crossing through the gap. "Inexplicably, the Biden admin has made no effort to fill or fix this small gap."

The large influx of Chinese migrants entering the country through the southern border has stretched the resources of the border patrol as translation services are required. El Paso's Chief Patrol Agent Anthony Good explained to the House Homeland Security Committee last year that his agents have been "trying their best to figure out why [individuals from other continents are] coming." However, he explained that the information necessary to determine their motives can often be difficult, as The Daily Mail reported.

Homeland Security Committee Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) sounded the alarm about the crisis, explaining, "While it is true that some individuals may be seeking relief from authoritarian regimes, there is no way for our brave men and women on the frontlines of this crisis to adequately vet all of them before being effectively forced to release them—particularly when countries like China won't allow us access to their various law enforcement databases."

"My Committee has been informed that some of these Chinese nationals have even been found to be affiliated with the People's Liberation Army and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)—and those are just the ones we've been able to vet," he continued. "As the CCP works to undermine and infiltrate our institutions and even military installations, Secretary Mayorkas has made it clear to the entire world that our borders are open. This is simply unsustainable, and the national security risks are massive."

As millions of tens of thousands of additional migrants cross the border every week, the influx of Chinese nationals is particularly concerning. The Chinese Communist Party is a chief adversary of the United States, and it is certainly possible that nationals from the East Asian country pose a significant national security threat. Despite this, the Biden administration refuses to act.
