BREAKING: Son Of Alleged Would-Be Trump Assassin Ryan Routh Arrested For Child Pornography After Police Raid

On Tuesday, the son of 58-year-old would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh, 35-year-old Oran Routh, was arrested by authorities after they discovered "hundreds" of files of child pornography during a search of his residence in Guilford County, North Carolina. Police searched the Greensboro residence on September 21 "in connection with an investigation unrelated to child exploitation." Authorities are charging the younger Routh with receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography.

According to ABC News, the search of the residence was a part of the police's investigation into the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15. While carrying out the search warrant on Oran's home, the police discovered a Samsung Galaxy Note device in Oran Routh's bedroom.

"A review of the SD card located in Device-1 revealed that it contained hundreds of child pornography files," prosecutors explained in the criminal complaint. "These files include videos from a known child pornography series created outside the state of North Carolina." Oran Routh will be appearing in federal court on Tuesday. The criminal complaint contains graphic descriptions of content and a chatlog that shows Oran Routh attempting to purchase some of the advertised child pornography.

The younger Routh's arrest comes after his father was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number after he attempted to assassinate President Trump. The 35-year-old Oran told The Daily Mail last week that his dad hates Trump like "every reasonable person does." Despite camping out for 12 hours before the attempted assassination, Routh's efforts were foiled by the Secret Service, but a letter released by the Department of Justice earlier this week showed Routh's true intentions.

"This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but I failed you," the gunman wrote. "I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job."

"Everyone across the globe, from the youngest to the oldest, knows that Trump is unfit to be anything, much less a U.S. president," the letter continues. "U.S. presidents must at bare minimum embody the moral fabric that is America, and be kind, caring and selfless and always stand for humanity. Trump fails to understand any of [that]."

It appears that Ryan Routh's behavior didn't fall far from the tree, and now both father and son are facing years-long sentences behind bars.
