BREAKING: Texas Legislature BANS Sex Altering Procedures For Minors, Bill Heads To Governor Abbott's Desk

The Texas legislature has officially approved Senate Bill 14, which would ban minors from receiving sex-altering treatments like sex reassignment surgery and hormone blockers.

The bill's passage follows waves of other similar legislation being passed in states like Missouri and Montana. The bill represents a resounding success for Republicans within Texas, dealing a major blow to people peddling the LGBTQ agenda within the state.

Texas Republicans have already taken to Twitter to celebrate the major legislation passing.

Katrina Pierson, a spokeswoman for Donald Trump's 2016 campaign, tweeted out, “BREAKING: Texas now joins the growing list of states banning the mutilation of children passing #SB14, now headed to the Governor’s desk. A huge win for the next generation, and common sense. #protectchildren

Jeff Leach, a co-author of the bill, tweeted out, “Proud to Co-Author, vote for and pass SB 14 — the nation’s strongest law protecting our children from harmful gender modification procedures and treatments. I promised to fight for the passage of a smart and strong bill — and tonight I kept that promise with SB 14. #txlege.”
Another Texas lawmaker, Venton Jones, a representative for Texas’ House District 100, tweeted out, “I will never back down fighting for our Texas Children. Every one deserves access to healthcare and SB14 takes away life saving medical treatment to those who need it most. #txlege #SB14

Texas House Speaker released a statement on the passing of SB 14, stating, “On the first day of the 88th Texas Legislature, I made clear that the Texas House would take legislative action this year to protect our children from the various threats that exist to their safety today, including preventing the sexualization and exploitation of their innocence. Today, our chamber took decisive action by initially passing Senate Bill 14 to prohibit medical providers from performing medically unnecessary and oftentimes irreversible procedures or therapies to a minor for the purposes of transitioning their gender.”
The bill still had some dissenters, including the Humans Rights Campaign, who responded to the passage with a tweet thread stating, “The Texas House advanced #SB14, prohibiting Texas parents from accessing best practice medical care for their children, despite the opposition of hundreds of Texans. This is devastating to trans youth and their families, but we won't stop fighting for LGBTQ+ youth in Texas.”
The bill is a major victory for Texas, going a long way in protecting the youth from an agenda they do not need to be influenced by. Protecting kids' innocence should be done before promoting transgenderism and Texas clearly understands this importance.
