BREAKING: Thomas Massie EXPLODES On Merrick Garland Over January 6th And Ray Epps - 'The American Public Is Not Buying It'

On Wednesday, Biden's Attorney General Merrick Garland appeared in front of the House Judiciary Committee to answer for the various biased actions of his department including the weaponization of government, the sweetheart deal for Hunter Biden, the targeting of Elon Musk, and the sentencing of January 6th defendants as well as a host of other topics.

One particular moment has gone viral after Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) went off on Garland for his department's treatment of January 6th and the light sentence handed down to Ray Epps earlier this week.

Massie opened his questioning by asking Garland how many federal assets were at the 'Stop the Steal' rally on January 5th and January 6th, a question that Garland said he could not answer.

"You indicted [Ray Epps] on a misdemeanors and meanwhile you're sending grandmas to prison. You're putting people away for 20 years for merely filming. Some people weren't even there but you got the guy on video saying go into the Capitol, he's directing people to the Capitol before the speech ends," the Kentucky Republican boomed. "He's at the sight of the first breach. You've got all the goods on him, ten videos and it's an indictment on a misdemeanor."

"The American public is not buying it," Massie added.

Garland responded to Massie by explaining that Epps was not a federal employee and that there was a proceeding on the misdemeanor charge today.

"The charge is a joke," Massie said in response.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Epps was charged by the Department of Justice with disruptive or disorderly conduct for his actions on January 6, 2021, on Tuesday.

"On or about January 6, 2021, within the District of Columbia, JAMES RAY EPPS, SR. did knowingly, and with intent to impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, engage in disorderly and disruptive conduct in and within such proximity to, a restricted building and grounds—that is, any posted, cordoned-off, and otherwise restricted area within the United States Capitol and its grounds, where the Vice President was and would be temporarily visiting—when and so that such conduct did in fact impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, and attempted and conspired to do so," the charging document reads.

Epps is not being charged with entering the Capitol on January 6th given that he is only known to have been on the Capitol grounds on that day, according to NBC News.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson notably made Epps a centerpiece in his investigation into January 6th with the host insinuating that Epps was a federal asset of some kind. This has led to Epps filing a defamation lawsuit against Fox News.

"Let’s see if he’s treated the same as other J6 defendants or if the regime gives him special Fed treatment!" DC Draino wrote on X/Twitter.

"This lame single charge tells us everything we need to know about Ray Epps," wrote journalist Julie Kelly. "No obstruction felony? No civil disorder charge? Not even a trespassing on restricted grounds misdemeanor? Can't even tell you the last time I saw an "information" (misdemeanor version of indictment) for a J6er on a sole count. Not sure it exists but will check."
