BREAKING: Tom Emmer Withdraws From Speaker Race Hours After Nomination

On Tuesday, Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) withdrew from the House speaker race only a few hours after he was nominated by Republicans.

His sudden decision to drop out of the race came after at least 26 members refused to support his candidacy.

Yet another race for speaker will take place with candidates having until 5:30 PM to declare their candidacy.

Thus far, Reps. Mark Green (R-TN), Kevin Hern (R-OK), and Mike Johnson (R-LA) have declared their pursuit for the nomination.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
