On Tuesday, Michigan voters took to the polls in the fifth Republican presidential primary contest in the nation. Donald Trump handily defeated former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC) with the race being called with only 10 percent reporting.
Trump dominated Haley with 64.3 percent support compared to Haley's 31.6 percent. Two percent in the GOP primary voted 'Uncommitted' as a protest vote of the war in Gaza. President Joe Biden also easily won the state's Democratic primary with 78.5 percent support, however, a large protest vote, largely driven by the state's Muslim community, is a worrying sign for his reelection chances. With 13 percent of the vote in, 16 percent of Democrat voters chose 'Uncommitted' on the ballot.
