BREAKING: Trump Put Under A GAG ORDER By New York Judge

New York Judge Juan Merchan has officially placed a gag order on the 45th President of the United States Donald J. Trump, forbidding him from posting about the ongoing criminal case in which District Attorney Alvin Bragg is conducting a partisan prosecution of the Republican presidential front-runner. 

The judge has barred Trump from "making public evidence and other material related to a pending criminal case against him in New York," according to reporting from CNBC. Trump is also forbidden from having access to any evidence against him except in the presence of his attorneys and is not permitted to copy any of the material.

According to the outlet, in the prosecution's motion calling for the order, assistant District Attorney Catherine McCaw wrote,

"Donald J. Trump has a longstanding and perhaps singular history of attacking witnesses, investigators, prosecutors, trial jurors, grand jurors, judges, and others involved in legal proceedings against him, putting those individuals and their families at considerable safety risk.

Merchan wrote in his order that all material provided to Trump's lawyers "shall be used solely for the purposes of preparing a defense in this matter," per CNBC. "Any person who receives the Covered Materials shall not copy, disseminate, or disclose the Covered Materials, in any form or by any means, to any third party," the order continued in theory making any news outlet that publishes information released by Trump subject to prosecution.

Kyle Becker of the 'Relentless' podcast observed in a tweet,

"In a first in U.S. history, a presidential candidate will be forbidden to defend himself during an election campaign."

The situation lends itself now for a convincing case to be made for an election interference charge to be made against DA Bragg and Judge Merchan.

Judge Merchan was appointed by radical leftist New York former Mayor, and vehement critic of Trump, Michael Bloomberg, according to Fox News. He notably presided over the case against Trump's former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and oversaw the case against the Trump Organization and former CFO, Allen Weisselberg. 

Merchan also made campaign donations to President Joe Biden in 2020 according to Federal Elections Commission reports cited by NBC News.

During the trial against Weisselberg, Merchan vehemently denied allegations of that case being politically motivated, "I will not allow you in any way to bring up a selective prosecution claim or claim this is some sort of novel prosecution," Merchan said, according to Fox, continuing that he "will have very little patience at trial any questions that are not in a good-faith basis."

Amuse, writing for 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 on Substack revealed on May 1st that the potential for conflict of interest between Merchan and Trump goes even deeper,

Given his prior history presiding over the Trump Organization tax investigation and case against Trump’s CEO he has a clear conflict of interest. Perhaps worse is the fact that his daughter, Loren Merchan, is president of a political consulting firm that works for President Biden and other Democrat candidates and politicians. New York has violated its own rules to ‘get Trump’."

It has just become a crime for Trump to defend himself from the relentless attacks of the establishment media and leftist political opponents in the court of public opinion. And it is now even more dangerous for publications and writers to cover the trial ethically. The First Amendment was just dealt a mortal wound, and the 2024 election now lies objectively compromised before the first ballot is even cast.
