Following Trump's decisive victory over the competition in the Iowa caucuses earlier this week, he has received the support of various lawmakers nationwide who have realized that the Republican primaries are all but over. On Friday, former presidential candidate Tim Scott (R-SC) is reportedly ready to join that growing list.
Scott, who ended his presidential campaign in November, is set to endorse leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump at a rally in New Hampshire on Friday evening in what is a major blow to fellow South Carolinian Nikki Haley (R-SC), who is looking to compete with Trump in the Granite State.
As the New York Times reported, Scott, who only recently decided to endorse Trump, is expected to fly with Trump from Florida to New Hampshire. Former Gov. Haley had reportedly attempted to lobby for Scott's endorsement, but her efforts were unsuccessful.
