BREAKING: Trump To Receive Payout After Winning Supreme Court Immunity Case

On Friday, the Supreme Court reversed Judge Tanya Chutkan's order denying President Donald Trump's immunity in the January 6 case brought by special counsel Jack Smith. In addition to reversing the decision, the Supreme Court awarded Trump $3,232.80.

"It is ordered and adjudged by this Court that the judgment of the above court is vacated with costs, and the case is remanded to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit for further proceedings consistent with the opinion of this Court," the high court's order reads.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the court ruled in a 6-3 decision along ideological lines that 45th President Donald Trump is partially immune from special counsel Jack Smith's prosecution. Trump was granted immunity for "official acts" while not being granted immunity for "unofficial acts." The court's decision is the first time that the Supreme Court has ever considered whether a president can be held criminally liable for actions taken while in office.

"The President enjoys no immunity for his unofficial acts, and not everything the President does is official," Chief Justice John Roberts wrote. "The President is not above the law. But Congress may not criminalize the President's conduct in carrying out the responsibilities of the Executive Branch under the Constitution. And the system of separated powers designed by the Framers has always demanded an energetic, independent Executive. The President therefore may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled, at a minimum, to a presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts. That immunity applies equally to all occupants of the Oval Office, regardless of politics, policy, or party."

The Supreme Court's decision has been a key point of attack for President Biden, who has demanded that multiple reforms be taken to restore the public's confidence in the Supreme Court, including term limits, a constitutional amendment reversing the Trump v. United States decision, and the implementation of an ethics code.

Biden argued for his demands in an op-ed that explained the alleged dangers of the Supreme Court's decision. "This nation was founded on a simple yet profound principle: No one is above the law. Not the president of the United States. Not a justice on the Supreme Court of the United States. No one," Biden's began. "But the Supreme Court's 6-3 decision on July 1 to grant presidents broad immunity from prosecution for crimes they commit in office means there are virtually no limits on what a president can do. The only limits will be those that are self-imposed by the person occupying the Oval Office."

"If a future president incites a violent mob to storm the Capitol and stop the peaceful transfer of power — like we saw on Jan. 6, 2021 — there may be no legal consequences. And that's only the beginning," the president added.

The Supreme Court's decision in Trump v. United States has radically changed the lawfare campaign against the ex-president, and it is unlikely that Jack Smith's case against Trump won't see the light of day until after voters head to the ballot box on November 5.
