Fox News has announced in a statement that the cable news network and its highest-rated prime-time host have parted ways. The announcement came just days after the network reportedly settled a defamation case with Dominion Voting Systems to the tune of $787.5 million.
“Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways,” the network said in a statement, according to Forbes.
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor. Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.”
Several prominent conservatives reacted to the news on Monday including The Daily Wire‘s Matt Walsh who wrote, “Wow. Disastrous moment for Fox News. Tucker was by far the most important and relevant figure at the network, and in all of cable news.”

The move also comes just one month after Carlson released an explosive analysis of the January 6th Capitol Riots that defied the accepted media and Democrat narratives.
