BREAKING: Vivek Attacks Pence For Not Meeting The Moment, DeSantis Stands On His Record As Candidates Tackle Crime And Guns At The Debates

On Wednesday evening, eight Republican presidential candidates took to the stage in Milwaukee for the first GOP presidential debate hosted by Fox News and the Republican National Committee.

The debates turned to the homelessness crisis with the moderators asking Pence about how the homeless crisis was potentially caused by the covid pandemic. In response to this, Pence pivoted to attack the Democrats on bail reform and defunding the police. The former vice president also added that the Trump tax cuts will expire within the next presidential term.

Gov. Christie was then asked about the increase of shootings across the country to which the former governor focused on his record as a prosecutor. Christie focused on left wing attorneys who are failing to prosecute crime to which Christie said that he would appoint his attorney general to enforce the law. He then attacked Hunter Biden who illegally applied for a gun while on drugs.

Ramaswamy focused on putting more cops on the streets to tackle the crime surge and increasing the amount of psychiatric institutions across the country. Vivek turned to there being a national identity crisis in the country with him explaining that there needs to be a "tonal reset" from the top.

Pence once again attacked Vivek saing that Americans are not looking for another identity to which Vivek said that it is "not morning in America" to which Pence stated that the Washington government needs to be as good as the people.

DeSantis was then asked about his record on crime to which he argued that he has brought crime to the lowest point in 50 years. He also emphasized his recent removal of left wing district attorneys that have refused to enforce the law.

Gov. Burgum took his opportunity to focus on crime surges in small towns to which he emphasized his ability to connect with those in rural America. Hutchinson also took time to tackle the crime question to which he emphasized the need to enforce the law and create more addiction resources. He then went after Trump saying that he doesn't respect the rule of law and the justice system.

During the debate, leading 2024 Republican candidate and 45th President Donald Trump joined former Fox News host Tucker Carlson instead of joining the debate stage.
