BREAKING: Vivek Clashes With Haley, Pence On Ukraine, Russia, And Foreign Policy

On Wednesday evening, seven Republican presidential candidates took to the stage at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California for the second GOP presidential debate hosted by Fox News and Univision. The debate started at 6 PM PST.

The candidates taking the stage include Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC), businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), former Vice President Mike Pence, former Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), and Gov. Doug Burgam (R-SD).

After focusing on school choice, the moderators turned the discussion to the growing threat of China to which DeSantis argued that the East Asian giant has tremendous power in the American economy. He argued that America relies on China too much and the country must decouple from the communist nation.

Gov. Christie was then asked about the growing threat of automation and artificial intelligence on the American economy. He explained that Americans need to be involved in the new AI revolution and that more training needs to be available on the local level and in colleges. "We can't be afraid of innovation," Christie said.

Vivek was then asked about his stance on TikTok after he changed his mind on banning the app after meeting with an influencer. He argued that young people should not be using addictive social media.

Haley then called TikTok one of the most dangerous social media apps that the country has and that when she hears Vivek speak, she gets dumber. She went on to argue that the American people cannot trust Ramaswamy due to his business deals in China.

Vivek then attempted to erase his entire performance at the last debate after saying that candidates should refrain from personal attacks.

The moderators then turned to the war in Ukraine and moved to Gov. DeSantis. The Florida governor said that the war needs to end, that he wouldn't sign a blank check, and that Europe needs to put up more aid for Ukraine. He then pivoted to explain that lawmakers should focus on the invasion going on at the southern border.

Sen. Scott pointed out that the aid to Ukraine is on loan and that it is in America's interest to degrade the Russian military. He went on to explain that degrading the Russians reduces the likelihood of an attack on NATO territory.

Vivek explained that America is driving Russia into China's arms, an argument that both Haley and Pence took issue with.

Gov. Christie was then asked if Biden is spending too much attention on Ukraine to which he emphasized Iran, Russia, China, and North Korea are all working together to undermine America and its allies. He took the opportunity to attack President Trump over his record on Russia.

The Fox moderators then asked about American farmers and how China is retaliating against those workers. Gov. Burgum answered the question and explained how China and other nations are cyberattacking the country every day. He also blasted Biden's recent $6 billion giveaway to Iran as well as various other topics.

Haley was then asked about using special forces in Mexico where she reiterated her policy to take after cartels and go after China given that they are sending fentanyl to the Latin American country. She then took the opportunity to argue that Trump's China policy was flawed.

The moderators then asked Sen. Scott about his lack of executive experience. He attempted to use his Senate experience to argue that he is prepared to tackle the growing foreign threats facing the nation.
