BREAKING: White House Doctor Releases Update On President Biden's Health Following Exit From Race

On Monday, White House physician Dr. Kevin O'Connor released an update on President Joe Biden's health after he was diagnosed with COVID-19 last week and following his unprecedented withdrawal from the presidential race on Sunday. Biden, who flew to Delaware from Las Vegas on Wednesday following his diagnosis, has not been seen in public for several days. In his withdrawal letter, however, Biden explained that he would be addressing the nation later this week to explain the reasoning behind his decision to step down from the top of the ticket.

Dr. O'Connor's letter revealed that the 81-year-old Democrat is in good health and that he is recovering well from the illness. "President Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. His symptoms have almost resolved completely. His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and temperature remain absolutely normal," O'Connor wrote. "His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear."

"The President continues to perform all of his presidential duties," the White House doctor explained. "I will continue to keep your office updated with any changes in his condition or treatment plan."

The health update comes after the president's brother, Frank Biden, told CBS News that the president's health "absolutely" played a role in his decision not to continue his re-election bid. "I'm incredibly proud of my brother. Selfishly, I will have him back to enjoy whatever time we have left. He is a genuine hero. Country over self. Sounds corny in our cynical political environment, but he nor I are cynical. The goal remains the same, defeat Trump and continue the work that Joe has done. My hope is that our party rallies around this heroic act," Frank Biden explained.

According to CBS, a source close to the Biden family rejected any suggestion that President Biden's health was failing him, claiming that Frank Biden is an alcoholic who does not speak for the family. "Frank Biden suffers from alcoholism and hasn't spoken to his brother, the president, in weeks. What he said about President Biden's health being a factor in his decision is completely untrue," the source asserted.

The White House has continued to assert that President Biden's health did not play a role in his decision to step away from the presidential race. Biden, who announced his decision via a letter on X, is expected to provide the American people with an explanation later this week.
