Following LA Dodgers Controversy, Anti-Catholic Drag Queen Honored By California Sparking Backlash

Republican state officials had enough of the pro-LGBTQ agenda, walking out of a ceremony that was being held to honor “Sister Roma” of the anti-Christian group Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the same group that was recently involved in a controversy with the L.A. Dodgers.

The Dodgers were the first to bring the group to the limelight, originally inviting them to their Pride Night event on June 16th to be honored. The baseball organization later changed its mind, uninviting the drag group from the event, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer

The L.A.-based team later reinvited the Sister of Perpetual Indulgence after notable backlash from LGBTQ organizations, showing their willingness to kneel before the alphabet soup rather than respect Christians.

Lawmakers in the California legislature seem to be just as angry at the sinful group, walking out of a ceremony that was put together. Michael Williams, who goes by the stage name Sister Roma, was invited alongside other notable LGBTQ members like tennis legend Billie Jean King and filmmaker Eugene Lee Yang to be honored, per The Sacramento Bee.

Of course, the Republicans were offended at the inclusion of an openly anti-Chrsitian member being included in such an event and asked that Roma’s invitation be revoked. The invitation was never revoked causing numerous Christian and evangelical organizations to protest the event that was held on Monday.

The right-leaning members took part in the event until the Sister stepped up to receive his award prompting the Republican members to leave the floor. One Republican, Devon Mathis, stayed during the event to speak on the Assembly’s resolution, H.R. 33. Mathis attempted to call out his fellow Republicans for leaving during the blatantly disrespectful event.

“Hatred and bigotry are not acceptable, and if we truly want religious freedom, then respect must be mutual,” Mathis said. “Sadly, that has not been the case many times, and frankly, from all sides. As far as I’m concerned, what two consenting adults want to do behind closed doors is on them. I’d prefer y’all get a room and keep the (public displays of affection) from my kids, but let’s be respectful on both sides.”

The Republicans that walked out did the just and moral thing. Honoring such a dishonorable person is a completely ridiculous action with no justification for it. Devon Mathis must surely be a RINO as there's no way any true member of the right could watch an anti-Christian be honored by the state legislature and then have the gall to slam others for not doing so.
