'The Church Should Not Be Promoting This': Manhattan Church Hosts A 'God Is Trans' Exhibit As Wokeness Hijacks Religion

An appalling ‘God is Trans’ exhibit was held on Sunday at an extremely liberal Manhattan church. 

The exhibit, which has the full name ‘God is Trans: A Queer Spiritual Journey’, features artwork that is intended to represent the “queer spiritual journey” according to the displays artist, Adah Unachukwu, as reported by the New York Post. The art is kept in the Church of St. Paul the Apostle. 

Supposedly, the three art pieces represent the different faces in the “queer spiritual journey,” those being sacrifice, identity, and communion. The sacrifice represents “shed[ing] an old life,” identity is supposed as “the most impactful part,” and communion places “God and the mortal on the same plane.”

Some people defended the art exhibition and the church for showing the art off. Cherri Ghosh, an 80-year-old said, “I don’t understand the art, but this church is very liberal, which is why I love this church.”

Of course, the art has also received backlash for its anti-Christian beliefs being represented within a church. One churchgoer stated “The church should not be promoting this. I understand there are transgender people. I pray for all people but enough is enough.” The anonymous person went further, stating “It seems like they are trying to force an agenda on others. Also, when a friend asked a priest about this they didn’t answer. You can’t put this out on the altar and then hide.”

The display goes directly against the beliefs of the Vatican and the Catholic church, which has maintained the belief that gender is assigned at birth and opposes gender reassignment. 

The entire display makes a mockery of Christianity and shows the degradation of the belief system to fit into a liberal mindset. God makes it very clear in the words of the Bible that he made each and every person in a specific, divine way. The transgender movement goes directly against those ideas.

The Bible says in Matthews 5:48 “You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect,” and proclaims your “body is a temple” in 1 Corinthians 6:19. Most importantly in the debate, the Bible says in Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” 

The transgender movement goes against the idea that God's actions are perfect and divine, and for a church to praise the ideas of transgenderism is an innately oxymoronic idea. Churchgoers have every right to be upset with this clear slap in the face to proper Christianity, and the disrespect put upon God by it. God perfectly made everyone and a Church of all places to go against this idea is past the point of embarrassment and to the point of sacrilege.
