Colin Kaepernick Begs NY Jets To Take Him On In Desperate Attempt To Save His Career

Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick missed his career in the NFL despite the fact that he repeatedly defamed the organization as an enslaving enterprise that exploited black men after his departure in 2016.

In his failing effort to attempt to get back into the league, the former player wrote a letter to Jets General Manager Joe Douglas begging him to give the aging player a chance on the practice squad after Aaron Rodgers was taken out of commission with a torn Achilles.

As reported by Newsmax, Kaepernick's letter, which was penned on September 21st and posted on rapper J. Cole's Instagram, asked the general manager to consider him for the position.

The former NFL player was initially reluctant to allow Cole to post the letter online but he eventually relented after the rapper argued that it would show just how much he wants to play in the league.

"I would do this with the sole mission of getting your defense ready each week," the letter said. "If I were able to fill this role for the team, I believe this allows for multiple things."

Kaepernick proceeded to list the benefits of having him on the team arguing that Rodgers' replacement, Zach Wilson, would be well served given that it would allow the defense to get a "truer read" on a more mobile quarterback.

"1. It gives your Defense, the advantage of getting a truer read on the more mobile/athletic/versatile quarterbacks it will face when in weeks 4, 5 and 6 ([Patrick] Mahomes, [Russell] Wilson, and [Jalen] Hurts). I would consider it a privilege to be able to do this and would take on this responsibility with the dedication and passion as if it were the QB1 position.

2. This would also allow you guys as an organization to take a real look at where I’m at football wise, in game-like situations against an elite defense, while also not putting any competitive pressure on Zach. I understand the importance of keeping him confident and focused as QB1, and I would only look to boost that confidence in any interactions that we may have if I was given this role within the team."

The former quarterback also added that his addition to the team on the practice field would give him the ability to be assessed by the Jets and potentially kept on for the long term.

Despite his attempt to beg for a position, the Jets decided to sign Trevor Siemian to the practice squad.
