Congressman Demands Investigation Of Biden’s Lies Following Chinese Spy Balloon Revelation

On Tuesday, Congressman Greg Steube (R-FL) told Newsmax‘s John Bachman that a recent NBC News report on the data gathered by the Chinese spy balloon demonstrates that the Biden administration lied to the American people.

Steube noted that because the GOP-controlled House now has a Select Committee to investigate the actions of the Chinese Communist Party, “we’ll be able to fully investigate this and get more information and at least be a stopgap of all these horrible foreign policy decisions that this administration is making,” according to Breitbart.

Steube continued,

“Well, it’s obviously confirming what Republicans were saying all along. It was a Chinese spy balloon. We knew it was collecting sensitive information. We knew it was surveilling the United States. It went over sensitive sites. It went over nuclear sites. It went over B-bomber sites. And to say that it wasn’t gathering intelligence and information and communications is just lying to the American people.”

He added, “And now, again, we know the truth, and again, the Biden administration is lying to the American people. So, thankfully, we have Republicans in Congress and we have the [Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party] to go after the Chinese Communist Party and we’ll be able to fully investigate this and get more information and at least be a stopgap of all these horrible foreign policy decisions that this administration is making.”

Sharing video of the interview to Twitter Steube wrote, “President Biden told the American people that the Chinese spy balloon wasn’t a security breach. It’s not the first time President Biden was wrong on foreign policy, and unfortunately for our country, it won’t be the last.”

In another tweet contrasting Reuters coverage of Biden’s denials and NBC News‘ exposé three days prior he noted, “Of course the spy balloon was gathering sensitive intelligence as Joe Biden allowed it to traverse the entire continental US. Did anyone (besides Joe Biden) actually believe China’s story of an innocent, runaway weather balloon?”
