WATCH: Republican Senator Tom Cotton Attacks the WHO for Being Chinese Communist Party Lapdogs After Stalling COVID-19 Origins Investigation

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) attacked the World Health Organization (WHO) this Thursday during an appearance on Fox News’ ‘America’s Newsroom,’ arguing they are essentially “in the pocket” of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“The World Health Organization is in the pocket of the Chinese Communists, they were never going to be trustworthy to identify the origins of the coronavirus,” Cotton began.

Cotton was responding to recent reporting that indicated the WHO had quietly shelved its investigations into the origin of the COVID-19 virus.

“The World Health Organization (WHO)’s investigation into the origins of COVID-19 has stalled due to ongoing difficulties in collaborating with China. The theory that COVID-19 was leaked from a lab hasn’t gone away, with the last WHO investigation calling for further investigation into the theory, given that there was no new data on which to evaluate the allegations,” Politico reports. “However, a WHO spokesperson told POLITICO that the investigation had not been abandoned, but needs access and data from China for knowledge to advance. ‘We have repeatedly and publicly said that the origin needs investigating and China must provide access and info for this to happen — and if this doesn’t happen, efforts to understand the origins will remain rather stymied,’ said WHO spokesperson Tarik Jašarević.”

Cotton continued, turning his attention to Joe Biden’s relationship with the Chinese Communist Party.

“As I’ve said from the very beginning, despite the caterwauling of liberals in the media, it almost certainly originated in labs that the Chinese government runs in Wuhan. And just like the WHO wouldn’t make that conclusion, the Biden administration has turned itself into pretzels trying to avoid pinning the blame where it belongs, on the Chinese Communist Party,” Cotton said.

“It is just one more example of how they apologize for China, they appease them, they excuse their behavior, all to try to maintain the same kind of smooth relationship that Joe Biden has always advocated with our worst adversary in the world.”

These are serious charges and the American people deserve answers to their questions.
