Democrat Feud: Nancy Pelosi Sours On Kamala As The Democrats' 2024 Chances Look Grim

On Wednesday, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) joined 'Anderson Cooper 360' on CNN to discuss the upcoming 2024 presidential election and more notably, the selection of Kamala Harris as Biden's running mate.

In a clip that has now gone viral, Cooper asked the congressional veteran whether or not Kamala is the right person for the job of vice president, a question that Pelosi seemed to sidestep.

"Is Vice President Kamala Harris the best running mate for this president?" Cooper asked.

"He thinks so and that's what matters," Pelosi said in response. "And by the way, she's very politically astute. I don't think people give her enough credit. She of course has values consistent with the president's values and the rest. People don't understand, she's politically astute. Why would she be vice president if she were not?"

Pelosi then went on to explain that when Kamala ran for attorney general in California, she was only able to secure six percent in the polls. However, the San Fransisco Democrat mistakenly recounts that Harris went on to win that election in 2003. She, however, lost it in a three-way primary.

"Do you think she is the best running mate, though?" Cooper said in a follow-up.

"She's the vice president of the United States and people say to me, ‘Well why isn't she doing this or that?' I say because because she's the vice president, that's the job description," Pelosi argued. "You don't do that much. You know, you, you know, you're a source of strength, inspiration, intellectual resource, and the rest. And you, and she, I think she's represented our country very well at home and abroad."

While Pelosi seemed to not give her thoughts about Harris being the most well-equipped to be Biden's running mate for 2024, her omission is telling in and of itself. Kamala Harris is one of the least popular politicians in America.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, any support that the VP once claimed, with a 'Very positive' view as high as 26 percent in October 2020, has utterly evaporated leaving her with the lowest recorded so far. In a June poll, the VP sat at just 11 percent of Americans who had a 'very positive' view of her.

Harris has the highest net negative rating of any vice president in the poll's history.

Pelosi is right to be worried. Kamala Harris will certainly be an anchor on Biden's 2024 campaign, particularly as 45th President Donald Trump overtakes President Biden in the Real Clear Politics polling average.
