DeSantis Makes Devastating Threat to Woke Disney Corp, Could Pull Special Disney World Legal Privileges

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is making moves that will surely have the country talking. After Disney viciously libeled Florida’s very prudential new anti-grooming legislation as an anti-LGBT “Don’t Say Gay” bill, DeSantis has not been shy in his disdain for the media company, which historically specialized in making children’s content.

We understand why Governor DeSantis has been less than ecstatic in his recent remarks toward Disney. Disney has been tasked with supplying wholesome content to our children. It is the primary reason parents have trusted Disney for nearly a century.

When Disney disregards its central task and focus of enriching children’s lives in favor of pedaling woke Leftist narratives, one thing is for certain — they will lose the respect of both parents and politicians. As Governor DeSantis said last week:

“When you have companies that have made a fortune off being family-friendly and catering to families and young kids, then they should understand that parents of young kids do not want this injected into their kids’ kindergarten classrooms. 

They do not want their first graders to go and be told that they can choose an opposite gender. That is not appropriate for those kids. And so, if you are family-friendly, you understand, that the parents, who are actually raising families, want to have their rights respected.”

DeSantis also went on Tucker to attack Disney’s woke corporate policies:

DeSantis is right on target. Parents will not tolerate disrespect. Parents are, after all, tasked with one of the most important offices imaginable — raising the next generation.

Of course, this means protecting their innocence in the early stages of their lives. Exposing young children to gender ideology is not beneficial. Even if one agrees with gender ideology, that blanket statement seems reasonable enough. Kids are not meant to make monumental decisions about their sexuality at the age covered in the bill.

That’s why DeSantis has weighed taking the ultimate action — revoking Disney World’s status as a self-governing institution. The Orlando staple has been afforded this luxury for 55 years. But DeSantis contends this status should no longer be afforded to Disney:

“Someone said ‘Hey, Disney has all these special perks, should you retaliate against them for them coming out and demagoguing this bill?’ I don’t believe you retaliate, but as a matter of first principle, I don’t support privileges in law just because a company is powerful, and they have been able to wield a lot of power …

At the eleventh hour, when the legislation was doing this, Disney got them to do a carve-out for the big tech bill, and I am thinking to myself ‘this is ridiculous’ … Well now, with their conduct … now everyone else is upset with them, and they lost a bunch of the pull they once had… If that stops now, which it should, that will be a good thing for Florida”

DeSantis demonstrates the inconsistency of Disney. They want privileges while working against our country’s interests. It is time to tell them and other woke corporations NO!
