Disney Continues To Lose As Hundreds Of Thousands Flee From Disappointing Streaming Service - Have You Cancelled Your Membership?

Disney is not having a great year so far as the subscription service Disney+ managed to lose an immense 300,000 subscribers in the United States and Canada in the last quarter.

This marks the second time the streaming service lost 300,000 subscribers in the United States and Canada in a quarter, previously doing the same during the first quarter of 2023, per the DC Enquirer. The company also suffered major global losses after its deal with Hotstar ended in India, seeing upwards of millions of international subscribers leaving the service.

The latest Marvel show on the platform has also seen negative reception, with ‘Secret Invasion’ getting a disappointing 51 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the last episode of the mini-series getting an abysmal seven percent rating.

The streaming service is also set to increase the price even further, going from its current $10.99 price to $13.99, an extra three dollars for all the latest woke agenda nonsense to be spewed into your young child's brain. This isn’t the first time the service has raised prices, previously going from its respectable starting price of $7.99 a month to its current $10.99 back in 2022.

Disney+ isn’t the only negative trend in the entertainment giant, with their major box office projects being just as much if not more of a failure. The company’s latest movie, ‘Haunted Mansion,’ continues to fail to come close to the budget of the movie. As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, the movie had a large $150 million budget but witnessed a disappointing opening weekend, only pulling in around $24 million. Things haven’t gotten any better, still currently sitting at around $63 million internationally, less than half of the movie's budget, per BoxOfficeMojo

‘Haunted Mansion’ is far from the first flop that Disney has released this year. As previously covered by the DC Enquirer, the company lost nearly $900 million over the course of eight different movies, the majority being released in 2023. While the studio did see some success with hits like ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3,’ movies like ‘Elemental’ and ‘The Boogeyman’ cost the company millions.

With such continued disappointments from the once invincible studio, it’s no wonder why so many are turning tail and going as fast as they can. When the price for the service is increasing and the quality of the product is decreasing, it’s a recipe for failure. The only real hope for Disney at this point is their legacy content but one can only rewatch ‘Iron Man’ so many times before it gets old.
