Trump Remains Head of Republican Party: New Poll Shows MORE Support for Trump After Mar-a-Lago Raid

A recent I&I/TIPP poll released this week found that the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) raid on former President Donald Trump (R) has had no political backlash on the de facto head of the Republican Party.

Initial polling indicated that Trump would be damaged by the FBI raid on his Mar-A-Lago estate; however, Americans haven’t changed their opinion about the former president or the Republican party for the upcoming midterms and 2024 presidential election.

Polling was taken once in August and again in September following the FBI raid on August 8: “In August, 53% of Republicans said they would vote for Trump. In September, that number rose to 54%, a small gain.”

“And, the important point, he lost nothing from the Mar-A-Lago raid,” the report emphasized. “If anything, he gained support, while other potential challengers slipped.”

Trump, who is seen as the presumptive GOP nominee for the 2024 presidential race, had dominated the field in polling as even the popular governor of Florida has been unable to usurp 45s hold on the Republican base, according to Breitbart.

“Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who received 17% in the August poll, dipped to 15% in September, while former Vice President Mike Pence dropped from 10% to 8%,” the report continued, adding, “No other GOP challenger received more than 2% in September.”

JEN PSAKI ADMITS BIDEN IS SO POLITICALLY TOXIC, DEMS COULD LOSE IN THE MIDTERMS

While the presidential contest is over two years away, the midterms are in just a few weeks. The raid, however, had no significant impact on the congressional contests.

“In September, 48% said they would prefer Congress controlled by the Democrats, compared to 46% for the Republicans. With a +/-2.9-point margin of error, that’s essentially a tossup. In August, the comparable numbers were tied, 46% to 46%.”

“But there are warning signs for Democrats,” the poll explained. “For one, 59% of women and 49% of men say they would prefer Republicans to control Congress, and 40% of Hispanics lean toward Republicans, compared to 52% leaning toward Democrats. While Dems still have a lead among Hispanics, that crucial demographic has become far more favorable toward Republicans in recent years.”

While control of Congress remains ambiguous, most Americans are focused on the economy, immigration, abortion, and crime in Biden’s America. Americans see through the FBI raid for what it is, an unprecedented raid aimed at a potential future political opponent.

“What’s also clear is that the federal raid against Trump has led to bitter political divisions over the aggressive nature of action and what appeared to many its partisan nature,” the polling report explained, adding, “And it has perhaps irreparably damaged the institutional reputations of both the Department of Justice and the FBI.”

Donald Trump will likely run in 2024 and it doesn’t seem like the current investigations into him will have an effect on his support. Americans can spot a witch hunt.
