Forty-fifth President Donald Trump touted on his social media site, Truth Social, his lawsuit against his former lawyer Michael Cohen and attacked his (and George H.W. Bush’s) former Attorney General Bill Barr as being “a Stone Cold LOSER” for disagreeing about the validity of his lawsuit. Mr. Cohen, a convicted perjurer, is allegedly the chief witness against Mr. Trump in Alvin Bragg’s politically charged case. The 45th president is suing Mr. Cohen for more than $500 million due to what his lawsuit describes as Cohen’s “multiple breaches of fiduciary duty, unjust enrichment, conversion and breaches of contract by virtue of [Cohen’s] past service as [Trump’s] employee and attorney.”
This breach of contract included Mr. Cohen “spreading falsehoods” that were “likely to be embarrassing or detrimental, and partook in other misconduct” and that he did so “with malicious intent and to wholly self-serving ends.” The former president’s legal team insists that this legal action “has nothing to do with the Manhattan DA’s lawless and fact-less case and is a totally separate matter.”
Mr. Trump made a statement on Truth Social where he wrote that “So many legal scholars & pundits have viewed my lawsuit against lying, convicted felon, Michael Cohen, a disbarred lawyer, as being meritorious – a very good one. Some have stated, ‘It’s about time!’ Slovenly, Lethargic Coward, Bill Barr, who didn’t have the ‘guts’ to fight election fraud, & more, because he was afraid he was going to be impeached by the Radical Left Lunatics – The Democrats – disagrees. Barr is a Globalist RINO spokesman for Fox & the WSJ. He is a Stone Cold LOSER!”
Trump Dominates In New State Poll As He Overtakes Biden Nationally
Insofar as Mr. Barr’s statements about legal actions go, while Mr. Barr has called Bragg’s “abomination” of an indictment of Trump as being based on “pathetically weak” legal theory, he has taken the view that other cases against Trump do have merit. In particular, Mr. Barr has trumpeted the claim that Trump illegally possessed classified materials as being the one where “I would be most concerned” and said “some very good evidence there” that Trump broke the law. He has also called Trump “a weak candidate” for the presidency in 2024 who “would lose.” There has been no statement by Mr. Barr insofar as this author is aware of on the Trump-Michael Cohen lawsuit.
Other legal analysts disagree with Barr’s assessment of the classified document affair. Mike Davis, a former Chief Counsel for Nominations to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IO), tweeted about the discovery of documents marked as classified in Trump’s home of Mar-a-Lago, writing, “They weren’t classified. Trump declassified them. And he took a personal copy with him. 100% legal. They were in a facility guarded 24/7 by the Secret Service. If the Biden regime was so concerned about the security of these records, why did they wait 18 months to get them?”
They weren't classified.
Trump declassified them.
And he took a personal copy with him.
100% legal.
They were in a facility guarded 24/7 by the Secret Service.
If the Biden regime was so concerned about the security of these records, why did they wait 18 months to get them? https://t.co/3YDC3qZyHo

He also further broke down the issue in detail in a thread on Twitter where he noted that “The President of the United States has both the constitutional (and statutory) power to declassify anything he wants. If President Trump left the White House with classified records, they are declassified by his actions.”
Before Attorney General Merrick Garland's spin:
The President of the United States has both the constitutional (and statutory) power to declassify anything he wants.
If President Trump left the White House with classified records, they are declassified by his actions.
Period.
