Billionaire Elon Musk has repeatedly proven himself to be a free-speech absolutist who has increasingly conservative sensibilities, and while he hasn't endorsed any particular presidential candidate, he has made it abundantly clear who he will be voting for in November. Musk eliminated any doubts about who he would be backing in the upcoming election on Friday when he said that America would be "doomed" if there wasn't a "red wave" in just a few months.
The X CEO made the comment when responding to an interview posted to his social media platform of a New Yorker complaining about the rampant lawlessness that has come about as tens of thousands of migrants flood the streets of New York City. The woman in the video complains that the police have refused to take action against the "gang lords" who urinate on her door and make her feel unsafe in the community.
"There is either a red wave this November or America is doomed," Musk wrote in response to the video. "Imagine four more years of this getting worse …" Musk had recently met with presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump earlier this month when a friend of his invited him to Florida, where Trump "came by." Musk explained to former CNN host Don Lemon in a recent interview, "I was at a breakfast at a friend's place, and Donald Trump came by, that's it." When asked if the two billionaires discussed legal bills or political donations, the Tesla CEO told Lemon, "I'm not paying his legal bills in any way, shape, or form. And he did not ask me for money."
"Let's just say he did most of the talking," Musk said while laughing. "The normal things he says. There was nothing particularly groundbreaking or new, but he, you know, President Trump, likes to talk. And so he talked. I don't recall him saying anything he hasn't said publicly. That was it, it was just a breakfast."
Musk, who has 177.5 million followers, has been heavily criticizing the Biden administration, posting a video on Tuesday that slammed the Biden administration's open border policies and outlined how mass migration could lead to single-party Democrat Party rule. The video also stated that mass migration allows for Democrats to obtain additional congressional seats, given that citizenship is not a requirement to be counted in the census.
