In a move that has left many people online stunned, despite rumors of her vetting going back to 2021 Elon Musk, owner of Twitter has named former NBC Universal Chairman of global advertising and partnerships and World Economic Forum Executive Chair Linda Yaccarino as CEO of the Social Media giant.
According to The Washington Post, Yaccarino "will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology," Musk said in an announcement on the platform. " He went on to tease his future development of "X, the everything app," as well. "Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app."
As noted by the Post in a piece on Yaccarino's background, many Musk supporters are concerned by the new CEO's past work with the World Economic Forum and have taken this as a sign that Musk's laissez-faire commitment to free speech could be rolled back by someone who worked for the Davos crowd. The Post observed that according to Yaccarino's LinkedIn profile, she is currently chair of the "Taskforce on the Future of Work and sits on a committee for media, entertainment, and culture."
In her profile under work with the Ad Council, she also noted her work in creating the organization's "COVID-19 vaccination campaign," writing, "As 2021-2022 Ad Council Chair, Yaccarino partnered with the business community, the White House, and government agencies to create a COVID-19 vaccination campaign, featuring Pope Francis and reaching over 200 million Americans."
I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.

Long after the news broke of Yaccarino's new role the hashtag '#RIPTwitter' trended with many users expressing serious concerns about the impacts that WEF globalism and the influence of leftist power brokers like Charles Schwab will have on Twitter, hailed just days before as "the last" free speech platform in existence by Tucker Carlson.
Responding To Tucker Carlson Show Announcement, Elon Musk Makes A Statement For Twitter
Senior Editor of Apse Media and Conservative host Carmine Sabia replied to the announcement, "And welcome back the shadow bans of conservatives and anyone who does not bow to the trans agenda."
Iconic Twitter User Catturd also expressed concerns writing, "Elon Musk … the woke mind virus is a threat to the world. Also Elon Musk … I just hired a far left loon deeply infected with the woke mind virus to run Twitter. Twitter 2.0 was fun while it lasted - get ready for it to suck again."
Curiously, the new CEO hasn't posted anything to Twitter since May 10th as of this writing.
