On the early hours of Sunday, a armed family man in Sandy Springs, Georgia opened fire on an alleged intruder to protect his family. The incident occurred at approximaetly 2:15 a.m. and the alleged robber was intending to harm the homeowner, according to authorities.
According to Patch, the police were notified of the home invasion by another resident in the area. However, by the time police responded, the homeowner had already shot and killed the intruder. Police told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that “an unknown male unlawfully entered” the home located on Spalding Drive and “threatened to harm the homeowner.”
Police are currently investigating the incident and no charges have been filed but the authorities did explain that the homeowner, “while exercising his Second Amendment right to bear arms, defended himself and his family.”
