FBI Whistleblower Comes Forward With Details Challenging Bureau's Narrative Of January 6th, Alleges FBI Leadership Retaliated Against Him

A lawyer for FBI whistleblower, Marcus Allen, told Congress that in a letter obtained by Just the News that his client suffered retaliation by his employers after raising concerns about the accuracy of the FBI director's testimony about the agency's investigation into the January 6th, 2021 riot as per Just the News. Mr. Allen, the whistleblower, is a intelligence analyst for the FBI, was once named the FBI's employee of the year, and is a retired Marine who served multiple tours of duty in Iraq. Yet, when he raised his concerns about the comments made by the top brass of the FBI he found himself without a paycheck and sidelined.

His bosses within the FBI even raised questions over Allen's "allegiance to the United States" and suspended his security clearance after he raised his concerns. Allen's attorney, Tristan Leavitt, wrote in her letter to Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz that "[t]hese circumstances strongly suggest Mr. Allen’s leadership retaliated against him for disclosing his concerns about the veracity of Director Wray’s congressional testimony and suspended Mr. Allen’s security clearance as reprisal for that protected whistleblower disclosure to his supervisors."

The testimony by Director Wray that the whistleblower takes issue with was its impression that the FBI and law enforcement agencies did not infiltrate groups like the Proud Boys in advance of the January 6 riot. Allen recalls coming across different information in articles by the New York Times and Revolver News. Leavitt noted, "Mr. Allen’s leadership changed their posture towards him dramatically on September 29, 2021...At 7:51 AM that morning, Mr. Allen sent an email with the subject '6 Jan awareness vid link' to nine of his colleagues." Mr. Allen wrote to and told his supervisors that "there is a significant counter-story to the events of 6 January 2021 at the US Capitol. There is a good possibility the DC elements of our organization are not being forthright about the events of the day or the influence of government assets."

"Mr. Allen recommended in his email that his office 'exercise extreme caution and discretion in pursuit of any investigative inquiries or leads pertaining to the events of the day," Leavitt observed. The reaction to his email was rather poor. The letter noted that "Despite being told the matter had been resolved, on January 10, 2022, the FBI proposed to suspend Mr. Allen’s Top Secret clearance on the basis of security concerns related to Adjudicative Guideline A – ‘Allegiance to the United States,’” Leavitt wrote. “The letter stated: ‘The Security Division has learned you have espoused conspiratorial views both orally and in writing and promoted unreliable information which indicates support for the events of January 6th."

The letter further argued that the retaliatory actions taken by the FBI went against the law providing protection of whistleblowers and that Mr. Allen had always received high scores on his performance reviews.

This is not the only recent news of allegations surrounding the Biden adminstration about whistleblower retaliation. In the IRS, there has been accusations of the service punishing a whistleblower for coming forward about political interference with the Hunter Biden tax probe. Two other FBI agents have also alleged similar practices.
