Florida Agricultural Commissioner Publicly Challenges Governor DeSantis – Loses Miserably 

Robbie Myers, Digital Director for Ron DeSantis, put forth a video last night containing an old tweet from Nikki Fried, challenging DeSantis to 1 million Twitter followers back in June of 2021. Needless to say, as of today Ron DeSantis has 2.5 million followers and Nikki Fried only has 293.3k followers.

One year ago, Nikki Fried challenged @GovRonDeSantis to reach 1 million followers.

One year later, Gov. DeSantis has 2.5 million followers and Nikki has 293.2k.

Nikki Fried, the current Agricultural Commissioner of Florida is running to be the next Governor of Florida. However, the Democrat nominee won’t be decided until August. Fried is currently running against Congressman Charlie Crist and three other candidates. 

Fried is a typical Democrat and her platform is radically left-wing. In a tweet she pinned on her Twitter account from May, she wrote “I’m Nikki Fried and I’m the only leading candidate for governor of Florida who has never accepted a damn dime from the NRA.”

On her campaign website, she also talks about gun rights saying, “I will finally close the gun show loophole and ban so-called ‘ghost guns.'” This makes it clear she doesn’t support the second amendment. 

In essence, she wants to remove all the great policies pushed through by DeSantis and send the state spiraling back, to look more like the rest of the country. However, becoming the next Governor of Florida is pretty far away for the current Agricultural Commissioner. If her little race to 1 million followers against DeSantis is any test of her popularity, Governor DeSantis doesn’t have much to worry about.
