'It's A New World': Former CNN Host Don Lemon Makes MAJOR Announcement About His Future

On Tuesday, former CNN host Don Lemon, who was let go from the network in April, announced that he will be releasing a new show on Elon Musk's social media platform, X/Twitter. The show's announcement comes after former Fox News host Tucker Carlson made his own show and subsequent network on the platform, thus creating a model of success for others to follow.

"We're delighted to announce a new content partnership with [Don Lemon] for his new project, The Don Lemon Show," X's Business account wrote. "The award-winning TV journalist will share his unique and honest voice in 30-minute episodes three times a week, covering politics, culture, sports, and entertainment. The show will run exclusively first on X. Welcome Don!"

Lemon also took to the platform to write, "I've heard you... and today I am back bigger, bolder, freer! My new media company's first project is The Don Lemon Show. It will be available to everyone, easily, whenever and wherever you want it, streaming on the platforms where the conversations are happening. And you'll find it first on X, the biggest space for free speech in the world. I know now more than ever that we need a place for honest debate and discussion without the hall monitors. This is just the beginning, so stay tuned."

Alongside the announcement of The Don Lemon Show, former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard and American sports radio host Jim Rome also announced their own shows. Tucker Carlson responded to the news of the former CNN's new show by writing, "Congratulations. It's a new world. Welcome."

Following Lemon's ouster from CNN earlier this year after his failed stint as a co-anchor on CNN's revamped 'Morning Show,' it would appear the 57-year-old is trying to resurrect his career on Musk's platform. His ouster from CNN wasn't completely surprising given the low ratings that he generated and the reportedly souring relationship he had with his co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins.

"I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN," Lemon wrote in April, announcing his departure from the network. "I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play. With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best."

While the announcement of Lemon's new show is a surprise, it is wonderful news for the free speech platform X/Twitter. As social media continues to replace the mainstream media, voices like Tucker Carlson and Don Lemon will continue to fill the void and provide their own shows to millions of consumers worldwide.
