Former Planned Parenthood Director, Suspect In Child Porn Investigation, Commits Suicide After Police Raid

A former director for Planned Parenthood, 35-year-old Tim Yergeau, has reportedly committed suicide after being under investigation by police for a child pornography case.

According to The Middleton Press, the suspect resided in New Haven, Connecticut, and was the subject of a police raid last week. Following the raid, Yergeau committed suicide on Tuesday, as reported by The Daily Wire.

“The person who died was definitely the suspect in a child pornography investigation and the person who committed suicide,” New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson said on Wednesday.

The initial raid on Yergeau, however, did not go as planned, leading to members of the Special Victims Unit breaking down a neighbor’s door first and handcuffing the woman, Stacey Wezenter, before realizing they were at the wrong apartment.

The raid occurred on the morning of April 6th. “Every time I walk down my hallway, I relive it,” Wezenter said about the traumatizing event.

“I started running down the hallway, it was just like a movie. They had guns and flashlights on me. They put me against the wall and handcuffed me,” Wezenter said. “I was crying and saying, ‘What’s happening?'”

“What if I had a gun permit? What if I came down the hallway with a gun? Would I have gotten shot? What if my 4-year-old had woken up? Would they have shot him?” Wezenter questioned, according to The Middleton Press. “You just don’t do that to people.”

Officers searched the neighbor’s apartment and asked where Yeargeau was, however, Wezenter was only there with her children.

Upon making the realization, the police searched Yeargeau’s apartment and looked through his electronic devices, however, an arrest was not made.

According to the Long Wharf Theatre, where he had currently worked, Yergeau had previously done marketing and strategic communications for Planned Parenthood of Southern New England and the New Haven Free Public Library Foundation.

“Excited to announce that today I start a new job on the marketing/communications team at Planned Parenthood of Southern New England,” the suspect wrote in an Instagram post in December 2018, per The Daily Wire. “Excited to be working on issues I’m passionate about: healthcare access, reproductive and sexual health, diversity and inclusion, civic engagement, and voting rights.”
