Former Trump adviser Kash Patel, in an interview with Just the News, said that the average American can and are plainly seeing that the Biden administration is lying to them. He mentioned that Trump's TRUTH postings about the border crisis showing a record number of illegal migrant encounters are resonating with the public.
"The videos ... are resonating with the American people...They're like, 'Wait a second. The Biden administration just told me the border isn't open," Patel said. "That's what [Homeland] Secretary Mayorkas literally said two days ago. What do you mean the border's not open? He said it's never been open. Then where's the fentanyl coming from? What about the drug cartels?"
Mayorkas did indeed argue that the border was not open before the lifting of Title 42, a pandemic-related order that fast-tracked the explusion of illegal aliens for public health concerns, and would not be open after its lifting. As the Secretary put it "The border is not open, it has not been open and it will not be open subsequent to May 11." This declaration stood in contrast to the recent surge at the border.
Patel addressed the surge at the border in his interview. He said "How is it that 9,000 people cross daily, illegally, and some of them commit crimes in America and go unpunished? The people are catching on to that and to China, to the banking crisis, to the CCP, to another never-ending war in the Ukraine and now we're talking about the debt ceiling and all that. People are starting to take notice of these things."
Patel pivoted to the Republican primary field and the Trump-DeSantis debate. In his view, Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is a wonderful governor but not ready for the prime time of presidency just yet. Patel said "Ron's doing a great job as governor of Florida...I think everybody agrees on that. But that's a different level of operation than being the commander-in-chief of the greatest nation on Earth. That takes a much different level of experience. And I'm not saying Ron won't get there one day, but this day is not his day."
Kash Patel first made his bones with many Republicans when he, as a staffer, helped Devin Nunes (R-CA) in his investigation that discredited the Trump-Russia probe.
