Gavin Newsom Taking Orders From Biden, Will Attend Second GOP Debate

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) is expected to attend the Republican presidential debate this Wednesday at the direct request of the Biden administration in hopes of showing off Bidenomics to potential Republican voters.

Axios reports that the information comes from Biden's campaign advisors who are hoping to use the opportunity to push messaging on economics and appeal to Latino voters. Newsom will be attending alongside other top Democratic National Committee officials. There is even supposedly going to be a plane flying over southern California with a banner reading “2024 GOP: A Race for the Extreme MAGA base” paid for by the DNC.

"The campaign response builds off the strong and effective plan from the first debate with a clear north star: Push back on Republicans' lies and highlight their extremism at every turn," Kevin Munoz, a Biden re-election spokesperson said.

The appearance of Newsom also serves to shut down further rumors of a potential 2024 run from the California official. He has continuously denied any claims that he’d be making a run for president against Biden but countless media outlets have nonetheless continued to speculate about such.

The California official made many hopeful that someone who is more capable than Biden or Harris would take the mantle of the 2024 election as currently the aging president is being dominated in polls by 45th President Donald Trump.

However, earlier in the month, Newsom stated that if anyone were to run in the 2024 election as the Democratic nominee instead of Biden it would be Kamala Harris, saying, “I think the vice president is naturally the one lined up and the filing deadlines are quickly coming to pass and I think we need to move past this notion that he is not going to run," per the DC Enquirer

"President Biden is going to run and looking forward to getting reelected. I think there has been so much wallowing in the last few months and handwringing of disrespect but we are gearing up for the campaign, we are looking forward to it," he added in the interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd.

Newsom has recently seen a massive rise in popularity at the national scale, with his name slowly becoming a household one. He made national news back in August when he and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) agreed to a debate hosted by Fox News’ Sean Hannity that will be taking place on November 30th.
