Gavin Newsom SEETHES Over Migrants Being Flown Into Sanctuary State California, Attempts To Charge Ron DeSantis With Kidnapping

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) made the ridiculous accusation that presidential candidate and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) kidnapped 16 migrants who were being flown from New Mexico to Sacramento, California.

The Los Angeles Times reports that “The 16 migrants from Venezuela and Colombia were initially transported by bus from El Paso to New Mexico, where they boarded the flight to Sacramento, officials said. They were dropped off at the doorstep of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento on Friday.”

The transportation was arranged by the state of Florida, according to California officials, specifically through the Florida Division of Emergency Management. The Sunshine State has been helping other states, specifically Texas, in relocating the illegal border-crossers. 

The actions echo that of Texas, which has had numerous buses take migrants to sanctuary cities like Chicago and New York City to alleviate those closer to the border. California previously declared itself a sanctuary state so the move falls in line with previous actions taken. 

California officials were not happy with the plane of migrants, with both Governor Newsom and Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta (D-CA) blasting the move. 

“This is Gov. DeSantis, this is his baby, this is his project, his fingerprints are all over it,” Bonta said. “The governor signed it, the Legislature approved to fund it in the budget, and they hired Vertol Systems Co., a vendor, to carry out the work.”

“It’s DeSantis being exactly who he is and advertising to the world that he is petty, little ... and full of political stunts that hurt, harm, and abuse and exploit people to try and get cheap political points. It’s wrong,” the Democratic attorney general added.

Gov. Newsom threw even harsher words toward the Florida governor, attempting to claim that the actions taken by the state were akin to kidnapping. The California official said that his office and the California Department of Justice would be investigating “the circumstances around who paid for the group’s travel and whether the individuals orchestrating this trip misled anyone with false promises or have violated any criminal laws, including kidnapping.”

There were claims that the illegals were offered jobs if they went along with the transportation but so far none of these claims have been proven. Regardless, the liberal California officials have taken these statements and ran a smear campaign against DeSantis.

“They never intended to help them find a job but told them that they would do that so they could get on the plane and sign their documents and be transported to Sacramento,” Bonta said. “They completely exploited, abused, and manipulated these folks who were vulnerable and were hoping and dreaming of a job and told they would be helped finding that job only to be abandoned.”

It’s bizarre that cities and states that have announced themselves to be sanctuaries complain when migrants that arrive from the southern border. It’s one thing for a given group of people to decide their area can be open to illegals pouring in, but it’s another entirely to expect the entire rest of the country to follow the same haphazard beliefs. 

Regardless of what places like California and New York City say on the morality of busing migrants to those locations, if they want to house the migrants so badly, they should be aiding in the transportation. States like Texas and Florida have no responsibility for the illegals that are flooding into the country thanks to policies pushed by Democrat-led states. Republicans have fought against these open border policies so sending them somewhere they’re wanted is a completely reasonable step. 

If Gavin Newsom is claiming the actions are a political ploy from DeSantis to gain an easy amount of support from his base, can’t the same be said about Newsom attempting to get kidnapping charges on DeSantis? So much of politics has become theatrical and it's bizarre that Newsom would play politics instead of attempting to solve the issue of unrestricted illegal immigration.
