Elise Stefanik: It's 'Time For Republican Voters To Unite' Behind Trump

The Chair of the House GOP Conference, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), has issued a call for Republicans to unite behind the banner of 45th President and GOP frontrunner Donald J. Trump. The move followed the release of Siena polling Wednesday that showed him holding a commanding lead in the upcoming election.

As cited by Breitbart News, the poll found that 61 percent of New York Republican voters support Trump, while a mere 34 percent support an alternate candidate with five percent undecided.

Stefanik told Breitbart

"Now is the time for Republican voters to unite behind his campaign and focus on winning back the White House. Over the past few months, it became clear that President Trump ran away with the Republican nomination and is the best candidate to defeat Joe Biden in 2024."

“President Trump continues to dominate the Republican primary polls nationally, and the same is true right here in New York State, according to the latest Siena Poll, showing Trump winning by over 50 percent,” the congresswoman from New York added.

“I hear from voters across the state that we need President Trump back in the White House to save America from the disastrous policies of Joe Biden," she said.

Posting on Twitter, Stefanik wrote, "The Trump Train is moving full speed ahead in New York! New York is Trump Country for Republican voters. President Trump continues to dominate the Republican primary polls nationally, and the same is true right here in New York."

President Gavin Wax of the New York Young Republican Club told the outlet that he concurs and expects Trump to dominate throughout the 62 counties of New York.

“Make no mistake about it, Republicans in New York are overwhelmingly behind President Trump and the MAGA movement,” he told Breitbart. “We have seen numerous pro-MAGA candidates beat establishment-backed candidates in primaries from New York City to Erie County.”

Congresswoman Stefanik alongside Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) led a resolution Monday, according to Reutersto expunge Trump's two impeachments in an unprecedented move to reverse Democrats' unceasing efforts to delegitimize Trump during his first term as president.

The American Bar Association describes expungement as "the process by which a record of criminal conviction is destroyed or sealed from state or federal record. An expungement order directs the court to treat the criminal conviction as if it had never occurred, essentially removing it from a defendant’s criminal record as well as, ideally, the public record."

Per the pair of resolutions introduced, if enacted they would alter the congressional record "as if such articles had never been passed."
