GOP Leaders and America First Patriots have long challenged Biden Public Health Advisor Anthony Fauci for his role in the federal government. Without touching the question of his alleged corruption, Fauci certainly has an oversized influence on public policy. Public policy is wholistic and to allow any one figure to influence our nation is beyond unreasonable.
That’s why various GOP Leaders have tweeted that Anthony Fauci’s retirement — which will occur at the end of the calendar year — is no serious deterrent to subpoenaing Fauci before congress.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) — who will almost certainly be the House Majority leader after the coming red wave in November — said Fauci will have to answer for his doings.
“Dr. Fauci lost the trust of the American people when his guidance unnecessarily kept schools closed and businesses shut while obscuring questions about his knowledge on the origins of COVID. ” McCarthy tweeted. “He owes the American people answers. A @HouseGOPmajority will hold him accountable.”

Senator Ted Cruz agrees, tweeting “In January, a GOP Congress should hold Fauci fully accountable for his dishonesty, corruption, abuse of power, and multiple lies under oath. Never in our nation’s history has one arrogant bureaucrat destroyed more people’s lives.”

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, who has frequently challenged Fauci on the lab leak theory of COVID origins, has also said Fauci will by no means dodge the consequences of his actions.
“Fauci’s resignation will not prevent a full-throated investigation into the origins of the pandemic. He will be asked to testify under oath regarding any discussions he participated in concerning the lab leak.” Paul wrote.

America First Patriot Rep Lauren Boebert (R-CO) also expressed her displeasure, tweeting:
“Understand this loud and clear, Anthony: We are coming for you whether you retire or not. You will not get away with what you did to America.”
Fauci is stepping down in December to try and avoid scrutiny from a Republican House that will take over in January.

All in all, Republicans are promising action if they win in the upcoming midterms. We have to hold them accountable to their promises. But assuming they hold true, 2023 and 2024 will be very big years for the party of Lincoln.
