Franklin Graham Defends Trump, Says He Is ‘Innocent Until Proven Guilty’ Under Our Constitution

On Tuesday, evangelist Franklin Graham defended Donald Trump, who faces an indictment by radical liberal Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Graham argued the 45th President and leading Presidential contender is innocent until he is proven guilty in a court of law.

“Under our nation’s Constitution, you and I are innocent of a crime unless and until we are proven guilty. This fundamental right applies to every American—from the immigrant who becomes a newly naturalized citizen, to those who have served in the highest office of the land,” Graham opined in a Facebook post.

“And our process of justice is intended to operate independent of partisan political calculation. Partisan political calculation, however, appears to be precisely the motivation behind the indictment of former President Donald J. Trump in a Manhattan courtroom. It’s saddening to see what left-wing politicians are doing to our country,”Graham remarked.

“Be sure, though, that the Judge of all the earth [Almighty God] will do what is just (Genesis 18:25). Before Him, each and every one of us is a sinner deserving death. That’s why this is the moment to make sure that, when the Judge examines your life, you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection for the forgiveness of your sins,” Graham concluded.

This is not the first time Franklin Graham has weighed in on the Trump indictment. Last week, Graham claimed the indictment was “shameful.”

“It’s a shameful day for America as former President Donald J. Trump was indicted by a Manhattan grand jury. The Democrats have weaponized the legal system for their political gain while ignoring the current Administration’s faults and deficiencies,” Graham wrote. “There’s only One who can save this country, and that is God and God alone. Why should He even hear our prayers when we have turned our back on Him? But I’m going to keep praying that God will intervene and save this nation so we will continue to be that beacon of hope for this very dark world.”

Graham is precisely on target: Only God can save. In a world of injustice and treachery, the only anchor for confidence in cosmic justice is belief in the will of the Almighty.
