After Refusing To Show Up, Harris Campaign Claims Trump Is 'Unstable' After Hilarious Performance At Al Smith Dinner

After refusing to show up in person at the Al Smith Dinner in New York City on Thursday evening, Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign attempted to attack 45th President Donald Trump's stand-up performance during the charity event, claiming that their political opponent's performance proves he's "unstable."

"Donald Trump struggled to read scripted notes written by his handlers, repeatedly complaining that he couldn't use a teleprompter," Harris-Walz 2024 Rapid Response Director Ammar Moussa said in a statement. "He stumbled over his words and lashed out when the crowd wouldn't laugh with him. The rare moments he was off script, he went on long, incomprehensible rambles, reminding Americans how unstable he's become. And, of course, he made it all about himself. He may refuse to release his medical records, but every day, he makes it clear to the American people that he is not up to the job."

While the Harris campaign transitions from a campaign of "joy" to a campaign of resentment and bitterness, President Trump enjoyed a night of laughs as he roasted Kamala Harris at the 79th annual Al Smith Dinner. Some of Trump's best jokes centered around the Harris-Walz ticket. "I used to think that Democrats are crazy for saying that men have periods, but then I met Tim Walz," Trump said as the crowd laughed.

"Well, I better wrap up because Mayor Adams told me earlier that I needed to make this one very quick. Especially the city has reserved this room for a large group of illegal aliens coming in from Texas," Trump joked, in reference to Gov. Greg Abbott's (R-TX) busing program. Another joke focused on Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, who recently admitted to cheating on his first wife and impregnating the family's nanny. "A major issue of this race is child care, and Kamala has put forward a concept of a plan. A lot of people don't like it. The only piece of advice that I have for her in the event that she wins is not to let her husband Doug anywhere near the nannies," Trump said. "That's a nasty one."

Another joke took aim at Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who was sitting to Trump's left. "Chuck Schumer is here looking very glum," he said as Schumer faked a smile. "But look on the bright side Chuck considering how woke your party has become if Kamala loses you still have a chance to become the first woman president."

The joke that got the most laughs from the audience and the most traction on social media focused on the Harris campaign's group "White Dudes For Harris." Trump said, "There's a group called White Dudes For Harris. Have you seen this? Anybody know it? It doesn't sound like it, but I'm not worried about them at all because their wives and their wives' lovers are all voting for me."

While the vice president's campaign attempted to mock President Trump for his performance, the entire room at the Al Smith Dinner laughed at her instead.
