WATCH: Good Samaritan Shoots Armed Robber In Store With Six-Pack In Hand - 'He Saved My Life'

On July 27th at a Marathon gas station in Cassopolis, Michigan, a man selected a six-pack of Miller Lite from the refrigerated section and made his way to the checkout stand. As he did, another man entered the convenience store, pulled a mask over his head, and pulled out a box cutter. In response, the customer drew his concealed-carry firearm and leveled his aim, without even putting down the beer.

According to WOOD-TV, 35-year-old Cornelius Anthony Martin told the store clerk he was robbing him while brandishing the box cutter.

“You know why I’m here,” he said, according to the outlet citing police reports.

The unnamed good samaritan opened fire with seven shots, and Martin was struck "in the arm, back and face."

The fast-thinking customer told officers that he couldn't see what was in Martin's hand but saw a look of fear on the clerk's face. He was first seen in video footage firing three shots, advancing, and then firing three more, one of which is seen striking a liquor bottle. He told police that the stricken robber then crawled toward him and he fired a final shot.

With his magazine spent, the man withdrew to his car to reload and then held the injured assailant at gunpoint until police arrived to relieve him.

Cass County Prosecutor Victor Fitz told WOOD-TV that he is waiting for the police investigation to conclude before he can determine if charges are warranted against the customer.

He told reporters,

“In Michigan, obviously, we do have defense of others as part of the law in Michigan, that you can defend others if they’re in a situation that there’s dangerous force being used against them,” he said. “And certainly in this case, we’ll be looking at the facts in regard to that.”
