'Taxpayers Funded Hunter’s Business Travel': New Evidence Into Biden's Business Deals Spurs House Republicans To Action

The House Oversight Committee under the leadership of Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has dispatched a letter to the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration calling for the body to receive “unrestricted special access” to all records pertaining to and related to the foreign travel of then-Vice President Joseph R. Biden on Air Force 2 and Marine 2.

According to National Review, at issue are allegations that Biden committed "misuse" of the aircraft and U.S. federal resources and "abused his various offices of public trust and wasted taxpayer money to benefit his family’s enterprise, which consisted of nothing more than access to Joe Biden himself.”

The letter, released by the committee to Archivist of the United States Dr. Colleen Shogan, calls for:

"Unrestricted special access under the Presidential Records Act (PRA) to certain records related to then-Vice President Biden’s foreign travel with his family on Air Force Two and Marine Two. Then-Vice President Biden’s misuse of Air Force Two and Marine Two is indicative of yet another way in which the President has abused his various offices of public trust and wasted taxpayer money to benefit his family’s enterprise, which consisted of nothing more than access to Joe Biden himself. Devon Archer, a longtime Biden family associate, has stated it is 'categorically false' that Joe Biden played no role in his son’s foreign business dealings. Flights on Air Force Two around the world to seal business deals are evidence of that role."

The committee went on to specifically request data about "certain Biden family members or associates," including "Hunter Biden, Eric Schwerin, Devon Archer, or Jeffrey Cooper."

In providing justification for the request, the committee letter states, "The Committee is concerned that foreign nationals have sought access and influence by engaging in lucrative business relationships with high-profile political figures’ immediate family members, including members of the Biden family."

Comer shared via X that "Hunter Biden traveled to at least 15 countries with then-Vice President Joe Biden on Air Force 2.@GOPoversight has also learned that then-VP Joe met with at least one of Hunter Biden’s associates in Beijing."

On August 21st Fox News' Jesse Watters told his audience, "Primetime can now confirm that then-VP Joe Biden flew Hunter overseas on Air Force 2 at least eight times. These are trips we didn’t know about before, because Hunter avoided being caught on camera. But Primetime now has indisputable evidence that Hunter Biden was using Air Force 2 as business travel. Taxpayers funded Hunter’s business travel so the Bidens could sneak around the world and get rich."

On its face, the then-Vice President allowed his son and various guests to join him aboard Air Force 2 and Marine 2 to various locations around the world allowing his son to conduct business in these countries. Making and taking meetings in nations where his father had diplomatic duties is at minimum an illegal misuse of the aircraft and both President Biden and Hunter could be assessed for millions of dollars in alleged illegally gifted travel expenses.
