Biden Family ‘Crossed The Line,’ House Republicans Take Major Legal Action to Get Answers From Hunter

Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s scandal-ridden son, was requested to turn over records to the House Oversight Committee pertaining to his shady foreign business dealings. He had, according to Fox News, until today at 11:59 a.m. Eastern Standard Time to do so and has failed to meet that deadline. The chairman of the Oversight Committee James Comer (R-KY) complained that “[Biden’s attorneys] continue to act like they don’t understand why the House Oversight Committee would bother to request this information… They know that this family has crossed the line and they know this family’s taking millions and millions of dollars from our adversaries for no good reason.”

The chief object of the investigation into Hunter Biden is whether he has been selling access to his father in foreign dealings. Other items of concern include the close business ties Hunter had to corrupt members of the Chinese Communist Party, who had links to Chinese intelligence. As Mr. Comer explained, “If President Biden is compromised by deals with foreign adversaries and they are impacting his decision-making, this is a threat to national security.”

“The American people deserve transparency and accountability about the Biden family’s influence peddling,” Comer added. “The Oversight Committee is committed to exposing the waste, fraud, and abuse that has taken place at the highest levels of our government. Hunter Biden, James Biden, and Eric Schwerin’s documents, records, and communications are critical to this investigation.”

“Mr. Jeremic [a former business associate of the Biden family] ’s previous testimony regarding business relationships with officials who participated in international bribery schemes raises red flags that there may be evidence showing the Biden family and associates peddled influence and attempted to sell access, including to individuals connected to the Chinese Communist Party,” Comer explained. “Mr. Jeremic’s documents are crucial to this investigation.”

Representative Pat Fallon (R-TX) stated that Congress issuing a subpoena for the records was a “last resort” but one in which “we are really close to it, frankly,” as reported by Fox News.

Mr. Fallon summarized his commitment to this probe in a tweet when he wrote, “America deserves to know if Joe Biden has compromised himself — and we’ll stop at nothing to find out.”

Hunter Biden’s attorney shot down the request for records by claiming that the request “lacks a legitimate legislative purpose.”  We shall see if the Oversight Committee uses a subpoena as one member said they were close to doing and what is revealed through that legal process.
