'I'll Never Capitulate To The Fringe': Sen. John Fetterman Turns On Biden Following Iran's Attack Against Israel

During an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper on Sunday, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), a surprising moderate amid an increasingly far-left Democrat Party, broke with Biden following the large drone and missile attack against Israel by Iran on Saturday.

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, Iran launched over 330 drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles at Israel on Saturday in retaliation for Israel's assassination of Iranian military officials in Damascus, Syria, earlier this month. Despite the extensive attack, over 99 percent of the projectiles were shot down by the Israeli, American, British, French, Jordanian, and Saudi militaries. The only projectiles to hit Israel occurred in sparsely populated areas like the Negev Desert.

Following the attack, Fetterman, a pro-Israel Democrat who has been outspoken about the dozens of hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza, joined CNN to discuss the attack. Tapper asked the Pennsylvania Democrat what his thoughts were on Biden, reportedly telling Netanyahu that he would not support a counterattack by the IDF against Iranian forces. "Do you think that's the right call, or should direct U.S. military action, as some of your colleagues in the Senate are suggesting, should that be on the table?" the CNN host asked.

"I don't agree with that. I just think we should follow and have Israel back in the situation," Fetterman responded. "I don't agree with the president. That doesn't change anything that he's a fantastic president. I'm proud to stand with him and campaign for him and vote for him."

When Tapper asked Fetterman about recent comments made by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) that chided the Biden White House for leaking personal conversations between the president and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in order to appease progressives, Fetterman explained that he would never side with the far-left.

"The president is entitled to his own views and whatever he decides to do. But I would never capitulate to the fringe. I'll never pander to that as well. In fact, that empowers Hamas, and Hamas; they're actually convinced they're winning the PR war. And they're never going to negotiate at this point. They think that they're going to hold onto the very end," Fetterman said. "And I know why they're not willing to provide any kind of proof of life. And I don't know why there's not more of that conversation in the media. What about the hostages? What's happened to them? Where are they now? And let's just bring them home. And then all of the harsh words should be directed at Hamas, which started this. And now continues to hold all of over 100 Israeli hostages."
