WATCH: Hundreds Of Illegal Immigrants Forced To Sleep On The Streets Of 'Sanctuary' New York City As Hotels Hit Max Capacity

In the swelter of summertime New York City, the failure of the sanctuary city policies of Mayor Eric Adams (D), his predecessor former Mayor Michael Bloomberg (D), the Presidency of Joe Biden, and the Democrats in general, has literally spilled out into the streets.

According to a new report from The City on Thursday, illegal immigrants and asylum seekers by the hundreds crowded the stifling sidewalks outside of the historic Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan. The air held the sickly aroma of hundreds of people sweating hard, many days from their last showers, hungry and exhausted.

One woman identified only as Belma told reporters in her native Portuguese that she was turned away by the ad hoc city intake center for illegal immigrants at the Roosevelt to another location, only to be sent back. “They sent me to another place. I went there and they sent me back here,” she told The City. That was on Friday morning. She's been on the sidewalk since.

“I’m tired. I haven’t bathed. I haven’t eaten, I haven’t slept — it’s hard,” she said told them. “If they don’t have space, I don’t know what I’ll do.”

Belma's story isn't unique. NYC officials have said that at least 107,300 people are currently overrunning the city's homeless shelters and at least half that number are illegal immigrants. With people forced onto the street, the city has violated its own law stating that anyone seeking shelter must be provided it.

As reported by The New York Post, the city is reacting by spending millions on private firms to supplement its staff which is already stretched beyond the breaking point. This is in addition to the city's plan to put up illegal immigrants in hotels and other facilities across the five boroughs. In total, some 188 "emergency migrant shelters" are already being paid for at the taxpayers' expense, with millions of dollars being spent on private security forces to maintain order.

All told, Adams has forecast in multiple public announcements that the city will spend a mind-boggling $4.5 billion coping with the mismanagement of the U.S. border and immigration system.

As reported previously by DC Enquirer, law and order in the overrun sanctuary city have already begun to break down with groups of illegal immigrants roving through Harlem throwing objects at people walking by and beating them as recently as Monday. As noted by the Post, the attackers were allegedly housed in a former jail being used as a temporary shelter by the beleaguered city.

Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) has already issued an executive order declaring a state of emergency in the city due to the influx of illegal immigrants, and the city is seeking legal routes to roll back its sanctuary city laws.

But as civil order continues to break down with temperatures and tempers flaring in a city now employing armed security contractors, (we used to call them mercenaries) to maintain order while desperate homeless Americans and illegal immigrants take to the street vying for dwindling shelter and resources, it's the recipe for an explosion of violence.

My heart bleeds for those poor New Yorkers. People who don't suffer the consequences of their inane and dangerous positions need to experience the reality. Now they are. They don't like it. But it won't change their positions.
