'I'm A Believer': Trump Reveals The Impact The Assassination Attempt Had On His Faith During Musk Interview

During the two-hour conversation on Monday evening between billionaire Elon Musk and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, the 45th president revealed the impact that the assassination attempt on the ex-president's life on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, had on him on a spiritual level. Trump explained to Musk that the "miracle" that took place that day strengthened his belief in God and should be a sign to others that God is at work in America.

Musk began the interview by asking Trump about the attempt on his life and his reaction to the tragic attack. "The assassination attempt was an incredible thing. I have to say that your actions after the assassination attempt were inspiring. Instead of shying away from things, instead of ducking down, you were pumping your fist in the air and saying, 'fight, fight, fight,'" Musk explained. "The president of the United States represents America, and I think that is America. That is strength under fire. So that's part of the reason why I was excited to endorse you as president of the United States."

When asked about his experience, Trump said that the experience was "not pleasant" and that he had blood go everywhere from his right ear. "It was a hard hit. I guess you can say it was surreal," he said, explaining that he knew immediately that he had been hit by a bullet thanks to people in the crowd and the Secret Service yelling at him. "I was looking in the exact direction of the shooter, and it hit me at an angle that was far less destructive than any other angle."

"So that was the miracle. That was -- for those people that don't believe in God, I think we got to all start thinking about that. You have to, you know, I'm a believer; now I'm more of a believer, I think," Trump said. "It was amazing that I happened to be turned just at that perfect angle and all because I put down a chart on immigration."

"I say it was an act of God. It's a miracle that it happened, and I'm honored by it," the 45th president added.

Trump's conversation with Musk was actively listened to by tens of millions of X users, and its content was viewed by over a billion users on social media. "Between 7:47 PM and 10:47 PM ET, President Donald Trump's Space post received 73 million views. During the same period, there were 4 million posts about Elon Musk and President Trump's conversation on 𝕏, generating a total of 998 million views," the social media network explained
