‘Indict Donald Trump in Manhattan, We Indict Bill Clinton in Coeur d’Alene’— Conservatives Call States To Action

Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA interviewed the former Chief of Staff to Acting Secretary of Defense under 45th President Donald Trump on his March 31st episode of The Charlie Kirk Show. During the interview, the two discussed the news of Trump’s indictment by a New York grand jury at the behest of the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and declared conservatives should respond and indict Democrats.

In the course of the conversation, Kirk introduced a novel concept for conservatives: that turnabout is fair play. He suggested that prominent Democrats not only could be but should be investigated and indicted in conservative jurisdictions just as Trump has been… for blatantly political purposes.

Kirk explained,

“Some of you say, well, Charlie, there’s nothing these Republicans can do. They control the DOJ, FBI. No, no, no. You’re wrong. This was a local D.A. that indicted — indicted Trump. We have thousands of Republican sheriffs, local D.A.’s, and we have well over 25 Republican A.G.s.

So this is not even about the — forget the federal government, because guess what? They just indicted Trump in a local area. So they politicize this — okay, you indict Donald Trump in Manhattan, we indict Bill Clinton in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.”

He posed the question to Patel asking his thoughts on the line of reasoning. Kash replied, “We do not utilize the state attorney general system the way it needs to be in this country.”

He continued asking, “Why is no state attorney general prosecuting George Soros?”

Concluding on a question he added, “Are you telling me his laundered money to every political campaign he’s ever participated in is crystal clean? And forget that, their playbook is they don’t care about the rule of law. And I’m not saying we should discard the rule of law, but why aren’t we using it and why aren’t we going on offense?”

Kirk and Patel are hardly alone either. As noted in The New York Post on Friday, Tom Fitton, president of the conservative legal group Judicial Watch said,

“All bets are off. You can expect grand jury indictments of leftist politicians like Biden, [former House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and [Senate Majority Leader Chuck] Schumer as surely as night follows day.”

He added, “You can be sure that there are prosecutors across Florida and Texas right now who are looking for a state law hook into the Biden family. And if they’re not, they’re not doing their jobs.”

Mike Davis, a former chief counsel for nominations on the Senate Judiciary Committee and president of the Article III Project told the outlet, “If New York can turn a routine settlement of a business dispute seven years ago into a felony, I think our Republican AGs and DAs should get creative.”

The former law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch observed, “Two wrongs don’t make it right, but it makes it even.”

He reminded the Post, “You just need probable cause. A grand jury can indict a ham sandwich. We just saw that in New York. And the Bidens actually committed real crimes. These are real crimes that the Bidens committed. There is smoking gun evidence that the Bidens were corruptly and illegally on Chinese and Ukrainian oligarchs’ payrolls.”
