It's The End Of The World As We Know It -- Or At Least It Should Be, According To A Since-Deleted Greta Thunberg Tweet

As a collective, the entire world has reached a critical date in the history of the human species. Indeed, it’s the end of the world. Or at least it was to a 15-year-old Greta Thunburg, in a now-deleted tweet claiming that “‘A top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.’”

The date of June 21st, 2023 has no actual significance but shows the continued doomsday warnings given by supposed “climate experts” often lead absolutely nowhere. This is not even close to the first time that such a bogus claim came to be entirely untrue --  and more than likely, it won’t be the last either.

A New York Post article helps to highlight all the different times that such claims were made, such as the head of the United Nations Environment Program claiming in 1982 that by 2000 there would be “an environmental catastrophe as irreversible as any nuclear holocaust.”

Another time was in 1989 when a senior member of the UN Environmental program said that climate change must be changed by 1999 or there would be such fun things as “global disaster, nations wiped off the face of the earth, crop failures.”

This hyper-alarmism is nothing new from the left and their extreme push away from fossil fuels. No matter the status of their claims, the left can't help but couch their arguments with the same globalistic rhetoric they have always used. And to all indications, the left will continue to use their alarmist rhetoric the foreseeable future. This is truly a sad state of affairs indeed.

Thunberg herself seems to continue with her climate change protesting, this weekend getting a nice little photo-op of herself being taken away by police officers at a road-blocking protest in Malmo, Sweden. The protest had been going on for six days at the time of her being escorted off and is a protest aimed against oil tankers being used in Sweden.

Even with the doomsday cult-like activities of the far-left and their ever-present crusade against fossil fuels, life will continue to go on. There will be a June 22nd, 2023, and many more days after that. There is no imminent end of the world caused by the uses of oil and gas coming in the next few years, and any attempt to claim so will be once again disproven with time.
